Jennifer Hercman is the Executive Director of the Adaptive Design Association and a dedicated advocate for shifting societal perceptions of disability. Her career is rooted in the intersection of art, design, and inclusive education, beginning with her graduate studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, where her thesis focused on alternative perspectives in art and design. Jennifer’s professional background includes specializing in management and communications, with early leadership experience at Project Open Door, a nonprofit program providing free art and design opportunities to urban youth. A passionate spokesperson for accessibility, Jennifer has volunteered extensively with local nonprofits and government agencies to promote equitable access to design. In her current leadership role, she oversees an interdisciplinary team, manages strategic client relations, and develops operational partnerships. She is also committed to expanding the organization's impact by providing educational opportunities to professionals, teaching them how to use simple tools and affordable materials to transform lives.
