Ask me how I can help bring your curriculum to life through a field trip to Kingston which includes a mural tour or workshop at the O+ Exchange Space.
Aimee founded the public O+ Mural Tour program in order to transform the cumulative presence of over 70 murals in Kingston into a living museum of public art and representation. Additionally, she co-founded the Kingston Youth Voices program with Lindsey Wolkowicz (O+'s Art Director) in partnership with the Youth Workforce Development Program at the D.R.A.W., Place Corps, and Radio Kingston. This program provides the framework for marginalized youth to engage directly with public art in their community, learn about the various aspects of public art production, and gain hands-on experience in critical thinking, writing, and speaking. It culminates with the production of professional audio files in response to the murals, which are accessible on the O+ website and at various mural locations through QR codes.
Prior to O+, Aimee served as the Curriculum Director for the Technovation program, which provides young women around the world the framework to solve problems in their communities by developing technological solutions, and worked at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. There, she produced video content and designed education programming around the major "Revolution: 2000 Years of Computing History" exhibition, launched the Google Field Trip Day Initiative, and received STEM Innovation Awards for excellence in museum education. She was an instructional designer for CUNY to design seminars around New York City and the arts, technology, science, and the future of NY, and she holds an MA in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the CUNY Graduate Center.
