About me
Emily Asher Abramson has been world language educator for 16 years and is currently a PhD student in Educational Leadership & Policy at the University at Albany, where she is the recipient of the Paul Saimond Memorial Scholarship for exceptional academic achievement. A speaker of five languages who has lived and learned across seven countries, Emily brings a genuinely global lens to her work in Title I public education in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Her scholarship focuses on transformative systems change in K-12 public education. Her talk challenges educators to confront what AI is quietly doing to students' capacity for independent thought, and has a sense of urgency to build something better before the nihilism sets in.
