About me
Leigh S. McCallen, Ph.D., is the Deputy Executive Director of Research and Evaluation at the NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools. Dr. McCallen is an applied researcher with expertise leading projects designed to inform programs and policies that contribute to equitable postsecondary access and success among young people in New York City. Prior to joining NYU Metro Center, she was the founding director of research and evaluation at College Access: Research and Action (CARA), where she developed quantitative, qualitative, and participatory approaches to studying peer-to-peer and whole-school postsecondary advising interventions at New York City public high schools and City University of New York (CUNY) colleges. Dr. McCallen holds a B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the CUNY Graduate Center.
