About me
Job Title – Principal Evertech Academy & P-TECHBOCES
Programs affiliated with – Evertech, P-TECH
role in CTE or Special Ed – I have been an administrator at Broome-Tioga BOCES for the past 11 years. I spent my first nine years working in one of our largest Special Education programs as an administrator in the PALS program. This program supports students ages 5-21 who are all working toward the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential and includes 12:1:4, 8:1:1, & 12:1:1 classrooms to meet students varying needs. At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, I became the principal of Evertech & P-TECH. In this role, I support high school students who are working on a Regents track with an interest in Career and Technical Education. Evertech Academy serves approximately 200 students in grades 9-12. We are an alternative high school setting with a Career and Technical Education focus. All students in Evertech Academy participate in a CTE class in their 11th and 12th grade years for half of their day. Embedded in Evertech Academy are two Special Education programs – a semi self-contained 12:1:1 class with Regents level courses taught by content area experts – and Oak Tree at Evertech Academy which is a specially designed 8:1:1 program for students with Autism who are academically sound and interested in pursuing a CTE track during high school. Our P-TECH program is a half-day program which serves students in grades 9-12 and two years beyond high school. We work closely with our district and higher education partners as well as industry partners to provide quality project-based opportunities for our students.
